Lynsey Stanley and her husband Richard purchased Lemon Tree Framing in 2010. Established as a family business at its current location on Henry Parry Drive, East Gosford in 1973, Lemon Tree Framing has enjoyed an outstanding reputation of excellence in service, knowledge, design and custom framing expertise for almost 45 years.

Lynsey began her professional life as a qualified nurse in the UK, the country in which she was born and raised. Travelling extensively in her twenty’s, Lynsey experienced a variety of cultures and professional opportunities before immigrating to Australia with Richard in 2002, where she continued nursing, specialising in theatre. Four years later the couple moved to the Central Coast with their two children.

Keen for a change from nursing to spend more time with her family, Lynsey considered various options before she and Richard, an award-winning landscape photographer, discovered that Lemon Tree Framing was on the market for sale. Richard knew the long established and respected business well through his profession. It was an opportunity too good to pass.

Since purchasing the business from long-term proprietors, Ron and Pam Gerrish, Lynsey and Richard have continued the strong family values established by Lemon Tree’s founders in the early 1970’s. They have also expanded the company’s quality picture framing services to include printing and restorations. In 2016 the couple extended and renovated the premises to incorporate a professional fully managed gallery space to encourage local artists and photographers to showcase and sell their works to the public.

Everything the Stanley’s have done has been with a view to better serve the needs of local artists and lovers of art. After researching the available exhibition space on the Central Coast they discovered there are limited options and lengthy waiting lists. Furthermore, artists are required to be present throughout the duration of an exhibition at other galleries, presenting a challenge for the majority who can’t afford to leave jobs and make a full time career from their art. The Stanley’s have solved both issues with their commission free gallery space by managing the space and facilitating sales on behalf of exhibiting artists.

Today Lemon Tree employs a highly qualified team of staff who share the Stanley’s commitment to deliver the best quality custom picture framing results for customers.

With her natural flair for design coupled with a commitment to keeping up with the latest framing design trends, Lynsey enjoys working with customers to help them select the best framing option for their works of art and treasured items. She asks the right questions to ensure she has the full picture (even visiting a customer’s home to see where the picture is to be hung if they are unsure) before recommending the most appropriate solution. It gives her immense satisfaction to see the joy in a customer’s face when they collect their framed artwork and tell her the finished result exceeds their expectations.

Lynsey was first invited to attend a Wild Fig Service Alliance breakfast by her friend and Wild Fig member, Karen Evans. She made the decision to join after attending a couple of meetings and finding the forum encouraged the building of trusted relationships with other local business owners in an honest, non-threatening and stimulating environment.
